Daredevil Film Festival 2020 brings joys to viewers

This year the Daredevil Film Festival resumed as an in-person competition from April 27-28. Teams came together for 24 hours to brainstorm, script, record, and edit their short films addressing the competition’s surprise criteria: the theme of joy, a line of dialogue, “Let’s see!”, a close up shot featuring a shoe.

First Place: Sammy-Soo Hears a Shoe

Sam Elliott '22, Will Elliott '22, and Langston James '22

Sammy-Soo Hears a Shoe also earned individual awards for Best Sound Design: Langston James and Sam Elliott  and Best Performance: Will Elliott. They also received commendation from the judges for their creativity.

 

Second Place: The Journey of a Lost Shoe

Carter Josef '21, Bode Kostick '21, and Kim Mayorga Escalante '22

The Journey of a Lost Shoe also earned individual awards for Best Cinematography and Best Voice Performance: Carter Josef.

 

Third Place: Next Chapter

Drake Berg '21, Jayden Mather '21, Declan Miner '21, Tyler Morrison '21, and Jensen Rawlings '21

Next Chapter also earned individual awards for Best Director: Drake Berg and Best Script: Drake Berg and Declan Miner.
